Welcome to the Principal's Page

Mrs. Marilee Byrne

Early in the school year, I asked the students of Milford ISD to do two things for me:

Walk tall and stand proudproud to be a student at Milford ISD.

The students accepted the challenge, and we have been able to celebrate great success in such areas as academic UIL competition, band competition, sports competition, and individual contests.  Whenever anyone at Milford excels and is successful, we are all successful.    They are our UIL academic teams, our band, our sports teams, our contest winners, our students, our school.  AND WE ARE PROUD OF IT!!!

In large measure the amount of success any group enjoys is determined by the extent to which they are able to put aside differences, think alike, and work together.

For example, our band had only 11 marching members when they went to competition.  Each band member was different in physical stature and characteristics, different in abilities, different in the goals they set for themselves, and different in what they want out of life.  BUT, they had to think alike and work together to execute the movements and experience success.

To be successful as a school, we have to do exactly the same thing.

My goal is for Milford to become an exemplary school.   Working together, students, faculty, staff, administration and parents can build a guiding philosophy of self-discipline, determination, and hard work that will allow us to think alike and work together.  That means we put aside differences.  We don’t call each other names and put each other down.  Instead we build each other up, and we encourage and help each other.  We think alike—we think exemplary—and we work together.

Many thanks to all who have supported and encouraged our students this year.  Your efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated.

 Sincerely,

 Marilee Byrne, Principal
